About Me!
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to my first ever blog post! This is a very new and confusing experience for me because I've never had to write a blog before, and truth be told my head has been spinning for the past week thinking about what I would write. Then it hit me like a slap in the face, you all have no idea who I am, so for this first blog post I will share a little bit about myself. My name is Clayton and I'm currently what you would describe as a sophomore at Linn Benton Community College. I am perusing a Associate Art of Oregon Transfer Degree(AAOT) with a focus in criminal justice. Now just because someone is a criminal justice major does not mean they don't have any photography experience, but that isn't true for my case. This lack of experience is what make me so nervous to take part in the Intro to Photojournalism class. However, that is exactly why I wanted to take the class. I wanted to push myself past my comfort zone because the only place you can learn anything is outside your comfort zone.
That is why I have set myself three specific goals to meet by the end of this class, so I know that I pushed myself past what I thought I was capable of. My first goal is to simply take more photos in my life. Some people say that you shouldn't take to many photos because it will ruin an experience, and there is a lot of truth to that philosophy. However, in my experience I also believe that it is imperative to take some photos to maintain a healthy life, and currently I do not take nearly enough photos. My second goal is to learn how to operate a dang camera. I don't know about any of you but when I try to take a picture I feel like I have no idea how to work a camera other then just clicking a button to take the photo. Lastly my most important goal is to learn how to improve the quality of the images I take. At the bottom of this you will see my favorite photo I've taken, but I also want to show you this photo because it's an example of a photo that could have turned out way better if I knew how to take a good photo. I have to sign off for now, but I look forward to sharing my adventure through photojournalism with you all!
